Job Title: Intern Chefs (Contract: 1 year, 5 positions)
Salary: R8,293.75 per month
University of the Free State (UFS) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Chefs Internship Programme 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals to a high standard in various food outlets.
- Assist with functions as needed and operate commercial cooking equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies.
- Follow recipes and maintain food presentation and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Provide guidance to kitchen staff and assist with food deliveries and inventory.
Inherent Requirements:
Qualification in food preparation and cooking from a recognized culinary institution (National Vocational Certificate on NQF level 4).
Recommendations:
Knowledge of HACCP standards.
Required Competencies:
Results-oriented, strategic thinking, business acumen, leading, and building coalitions.
