The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering student internship opportunities under Circular 021/2024 for eligible students residing in Johannesburg. These internships are available in the Transport Department and are part of the City’s efforts to provide work-based training to help students gain the necessary practical experience for their qualifications. These internships are available for a period not exceeding 18 months, with two specific internship designations: Revenue and Transport Transformation.
Internship: Revenue (Finance Branch)
- Location: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
- Remuneration:
- R9,531.54 per month for those with a qualification of at least 360 credits.
- R3,500.00 per month for students currently enrolled.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with a Diploma in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent qualification (NQF level 6).
- Only residents of the City of Johannesburg.
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of GRAP standards and MFMA regulations.
- Analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of customer service and problem-solving.
